OUR STORY/BACKGROUND

From kigezi Uganda to the rest of the world

2020

RUTANDEKIRE AND BUREBE FOUNDATION LIMITED (RUBUFA) is a nonprofit making organization which was started on 12th march 2020 as a community-based organization and later incorporated as a Private Company (without shares) on 03rd day of march year 2023. The Company is a development Company and it is limited by guarantee by the subscriber or “owners” operating in Southwestern Uganda. RUBUFA is mandated to equip community members with knowledge and skills in different trainable aspects for them to develop viable Micro, Small and Medium enterprises. RUBUFA focuses at capacity building of communities to counter widespread hunger and poverty by adopting agriculture resource conservation technologies

2024

RUBUFA serves a population of about 3,000,000 in Kigezi sub region. That’s Kabale, Kisoro, Kanungu and Rukungiri, Rubanda and Rukiga

2024 Objectives

  1. Training people in good agricultural practices, vocational training of youth empowerment of the population in self-help projects through workshops and trainers extension services
  2. To build members capacities to mobilize, organize and exploit alternative sources of income generation
  3. To promote and provide strategies and responsible community investment in food production and distribution to increase access to a sustainable local food supply for both domestic and international community
  4. To mobilize community development and training/capacity building of the rural communities to counter widespread hunger and poverty by adopting agriculture rosurce conservation technologies
  5. To act as platform for sharing information and its dissemination amongst farming communities

2025 Strategies

 In order to achieve the above objectives, the centre has designed the following strategies:

  1. Empower beneficiaries to take responsibility and ownership of the    activities of the centre.
  2. Strengthen indigenous institutions, communities and groups to foster the development process on a continuous and sustainable basis.
  3. Work in Partnership with government, civil society organizations, Community Based organizations, faith-based organizations, other NGOs operating in Uganda   and donors and in favour of conducive policy changes for the development of the local private sector initiatives in the country Kigezi in particular.
  4. Collaborate with, complement development partners’ efforts for effective and efficient delivery of services, and avoid duplication in the delivery of services.
  5. Align the centre to the development and commercial orientations and implement its programmes in a commercial and sustainable manner.
